Best scallops I have had in my life! And that's saying a lot because I am a big time foodie. My husband and I went here as a special birthday dinner. For the quality of the food and thought and care that goes in to it the price was very reasonable, IMO. For this type of "fancy" restaurant we had expected the prices to be more, but we came in at what our average "special occasion" bill is. Hearty portion sizes left nothing to be desired!

Went here for the first time, on our last day of vacation (February 2014). Would probably have eat here everyday, if we found it earlier in the week. My wife & I both had the ribeye steaks, which were cooked to perfection. Warm goat cheese salad was "PHENOMENAL!" Everything else was top notch! I've never had better service anywhere! Head & shoulders above the typical Myrtle Beach dining experience! If you are looking for something better & a little more intimate, go to Aspen Grille :-)

Very good food, large wine list. The onion soup is amazing, a must have. Mains were good. Over all the food for the price is good but could be better.

Nice atmosphere, decent house music and good restaurant seat spacing. Waiter was nice and timely. Food was worth the price (albeit pricey!) We had a great time and will come again the next time we come to MB.

Food was fantastic and service was great as well. Was recommended by a friend who lives in town. Definitely a place to go to if you want to get away from all of the commercial resteurants in town

This place was good, nothing ground breaking tho. Nice friendly hostess and waitress. The prices are good and the food was tasty. My husband had the lamb rack and it was very tasty. I had the pork and my portion was huge!!! If u are a light eater I would recommend splitting this if u wanna try the pork, which was also good, or stick with a different option. For dessert we had the apple crumb and that was DELISH. Overall it was good but it didn't earn 5 stars.

Delicious food and beautiful decor. Very NYC like. A bit pricey but Perfect for a romantic special dinner.

Three steaks, three happy customers. We started with a ceaser salad and tomato basil bisque. Both were well done. Entrees. First, a 10oz New York Strip (well done) served Oscar style (asparagus, crab meat, hollandaise). Amazing. Second, a 4oz filet mignon (medium) with a blue cheese butter and roasted potatoes. Temp was spot on. Beautiful. Third was an 8oz filet mignon (rare) with a bordelaise sauce and the mushroom risotto. Just....spectacular. This was my steak and I just wish I had more of it. Dessert: a key lime cake (basically a key lime cheesecake), a 7 layer chocolate cake, and a blueberry bread pudding. All three were spectacular. All in all, would totally go back in a heartbeat.

I think the place was nice the service was the pits the waitress was snooty n offbeat made four people feel her attitude when we opted out of wine. It's a shame that most restaurants suffer from bad staff. The food was good I'm a foodie so it was not great. I will not go back but I'm glad I went bill was really high.

Very romantic place with great Service. We started with the Escargot which was wonderful. There was an elderly gentleman playing an electric piano that added to the romantic nature of the event. We had the surf and turf which was the special of the night. It was very good.

Our whole experience was hit or miss. Service was excellent. Our server, Brin, took it to a whole new level. The Carolina fried oysters were spot on. The baby arugula salad that accompanied them was almost as good as the oysters themselves. We ordered the French onion soup and squash soup. Both were good but could have used a bit of salt but there was none on the table. I could only assume the Chef was extremely confident that he could satisfy every customers seasoning preference. But he didnt....the squash soup needed the salt that wasn't on the table. The short rib was excellent unfortunately, my husband's lobster tail "Aspen style" was extremely chewy both times they boiled it in its sauce. However, they were gracious enough to remove it from our bill. We ended our meal with coffee and dessert. The carrot cake was excellent but the 10 layer cake was grainy and very dry. The entire meal was full of hit and misses. I might think twice before going back and spending $200 on a meal to leave only partially satisfied. Even the coffee was questionable. We ordered a regular coffee that was excellent and an Aspen coffee with Grand Mariner, Tia Maria, and Bailey's...it was like trying to drink a shot. Way too much alcohol. Maybe in comparison to the Calabash style fried seafood buffet this is a 4 or 5 star restaurant. However, in order to get to 4 or 5 stars on this level of dining Rivertown Bistro in Conway is your best bet.

Great meal, food was excellently prepared. We had the tuna appetizer, founder special topped with crab and Lamb. No complaints. Only reason not 5 star rating is service was a little slow but can be expected with how everything was prepared. Expect to be be there for close to 2hrs.

Food here keeps getting better....with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients....excellent fish. Pleasant staff...not the most engaging bartenders....unless they know you.....which is fine. Nice to have live music that is not too loud to enjoy your lovely company...

My wife and I went here for our anniversary while on vacation. We loved it. I got the market fish which was red snapper. It had a great sauce and nice accoutrement. My wife had the flounder which was also very good. The soup of the day was a cream based seafood which I would highly recommend. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was more than adequate. They had this really cool private table that I would want to sit at if I had a larger party. It was basically a large circular bench seating table with high backs all the way around.

We thoroughly enjoyed the New Years special meal. The dinner began with a delicious crab cake. The salad was crispy and had a crispy fried oysters on top. The fillets were prepared nicely and the dessert was very good.

This is my new favorite place for upscale dining in the Myrtle Beach area! I went here last Saturday night to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend. We had a reservation but purposefully showed up a little early to enjoy a drink at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and also generous with their pours. Once we were seated, our waiter, Jim, made us feel like regulars. He offered great recommendations (fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat to start- amazing!) and didn't rush us as we looked over the menu for our entrees. I ordered the scallops while my boyfriend had the eight ounce filet with mushroom risotto; both of these dishes were cooked perfectly. Highly impressed! My mouth may be watering thinking about the fried spinach that accompanies the scallops. The dessert of the night was a ten-layer cake... of course, had to order it because it was something my grandmother used to make. Ten layers of yellow cake with chocolate/fudge-like icing in the middle served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... how can you go wrong?! All in all, a really nice dining experience. I have to say they get a bonus star for A) not being a tourist trap and B) providing fresh, local cuisine. Excellent!

As an off season visitor there was plenty of opportunity for Aspen Grille to drop the ball. However, from the moment we entered the restaurant Aspen did not disappoint. The southern comfort atmosphere permeates the restaurant from the friendly staff to the soul satisfying food. I highly recommend the sea food dishes, and while fairly generic I sincerely mean the compliment. The catches are fresh and the preparation impeccable. This restaurant will not disappoint. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your loved ones and enjoy - I promise you will not be disappointed.

Very good food!! LOVED the seared scallops with spinach! We got there early--good thing because we didn't have a reservation and the place filled up quickly. Very pricey but it was "fine dining". Will go back! Thanks!

One of the worst meals I've ever had. Duck was under-cooked and super fatty. If the instant mashed potatoes weren't bad enough, my dad got food poisoning from his meal. Found on Yelp! Food was excellent. Lb chops, hog snapper, flounder and shrimp all Devine. We started with sliders that were also amazing. Service a little slow for us but most likely perfect for fine dining experience.

My husband and I travel to Myrtle Beach for several years, and we usually eat at more casual establishments. However, this year we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and wanted to do something special. We found a review on Trip Advisor and there were a lot of great reviews. So I called to make the strongly suggested reservations. I'm so glad I did! My husband and I had a wonderful meal and our server Brinn was great! If you plan on going to the Aspen Grille, make a reservation, dress is business casual, and expect nothing but great food, wonderful drinks, (I had the dirty martini) and Brinn paired wonderful wines with our dinners. I have to say, the restaurant and staff make for a great atmosphere, if you are out to enjoy a special event or just to experience a wonderful restaurant, The Aspen Grille, in North Myrtle Beach is a must!

We happened into this place by looking it up on Yelp having never been to Myrtle Beach. Yelp listed the attire as "casual". We'd been in the car all day driving from DC stopping by Ft. Bragg to get my daughter for the long Veterans Day weekend. We walked in a bit "shabby" and the hostess pretty much ignored us, another woman walked up and asked, "reservations" to which we responded that we'd just gotten into town. She looked around and after a long pause said, "well there are no tables but you can sit at the bar or one of the tall tables in the back by the bar" I felt a bit discriminated against for our shabby appearance. Our waiter was pretty matter of fact until it somehow in conversation became known that my daughter was in the Army and had served one year in Afghanistan. After that our service picked up and the conversation was more open and congenial. The restaurant is in a strip mall and from outward appearance it is not apparent that it is an establishment that would require a bit fancier dress and reservations. They had a woman playing piano and singing and sports on TV at the bar so there was a bit of class confusion. I grew up in the south on the beach and now live in DC. There are distinct differences between "beach" restaurants and fine dining in my experience. So if you plan to dine at this establishment go to your hotel, shower, put on something decent and make a reservation. All of that being said, we did have a wonderful time. The place is clean, not huge so again, make a reservation. I would completely recommend eating here. We LOVED the food. My daughter ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad with a side of asparagus, I ordered a Roasted Chicken with Mashed potatoes, my man opted for the Shrimp and grits, all of which were cooked to perfection. We were attempting to discreetly try each others meals without appearing to heathen! Everything was fabulous. We typically are not dessert people but my daughter had grown very fond of bread pudding in basic training and had not had any since then (2009) so we ordered that along with a creme brulee. Again, absolute perfection. We do plan to return to Myrtle Beach and have added this spot as one of our "must do's" with a "note to self" dress nice and make reservations because there is just no where better to eat that we'd found during out stay and we want to ensure a good meal! Thus, the food is 5 stars, I left off a star for the apprehension of serving us because of our appearance. Even though it may have been a karmic lesson as we were talking on our drive about discrimination and wondering what makes people feel discriminated against. I am a white girl so I guess I'd never experienced that feeling until standing there, being ignored by one person and being met with reluctance by another. Wow, not a good feeling.
Exquisite food! Fabulous service. Terrible chairs. The product this place puts out does not match the location or interior. The chairs were terrible. Invest in your place people! But the food and service were AMAZING! New chairs = 5 stars.

great food & great service. the goat cheese crostini appetizer was excellent and make sure to get the flourless chocolate cake for dessert!
We truly enjoyed the Valentine's Day 4 - Course menu. Not knowing what to expect, it exceeded our expectations. I suggest trying the Oyster Rockafeller.

Yum, amazing, terrific food!! As out-of-towners we were looking for a little more upscale of an environment than the typical MB restaurant. Aspen Grille does the trick and all of our food was spot- on. I ordered the "fresh fish of the day" which was grouper with an amazing corn and lime frache on top of a jalepeno cheddar grit....mmmm. Also a hearty cut of grouper which I appreciated. Friends ordered the 8oz filet which was perfectly cooked and the surf 'n turf with excellent flavor. Excellent service, live jazz music, great service. Highly recommend.

I would give this review four and half stars if I could...but just as easily could have been 5 stars. Great atmosphere, very good service, very good food. The food: My wife ordered the fried green tomato appetizer...it was excellent. I ordered the shrimp bisque and it was average at best. I would go so far as to call it bland. The entrees: my wife ordered the Duroc porterhouse chop. She said it may have been the best pork chop she has ever had. Her accompanying sides were solid as well. I was torn between the shrimp/grits and the crab cakes. Upon recommendation from our server I went with the small shrimp/grits and a crab cake ala carte. Both were outstanding. The andouille sausage took the shrimp and grits dish over the top for me. Dessert was a shared creme brulee - also very good. Dinner complete, we had a question for our server regarding the variety of tomato used in the fried green tomato appetizer. His response was "Just a tomato before it gets ripe." (I guess I had idiot written on my forehead). When we asked it him if it was locally grown he could not give us an answer. I don't have a problem with the server not knowing the answer...my issue is his unwillingness to find out. I would definitely go back. I would not order the shrimp bisque. Reservations are definitely recommended. We were there on Wednesday night and the place was booked solid. We reserved through Yelp earlier in the day and then confirmed later in the day...this process went flawlessly.

I am a local and I frequent this resteraunt. I will keep this simple as there are so many excellent things to say you just need to experience it yourself: From the reservation process, to being greeted and seated, to the service (both bartenders, servers, and owner), to the food and drinks--- this place is difficult to top. Try everything: oysters rock! Best I've ever had... Fried green tomatoes with crab meat... Fresh Catches, daily specials, and the menu staples... You will not be disappointed! Highest rating I've ever given... Take time to get to know the staff as they are truly great people. Cheers

This place was very good. I had the fish if the day which was hog-snapper. It was good but it was lacking a little bit of flavor. Some of the other entrees looked very appetizing. If you plan on going to this restaurant, make sure you are prepared for the expensive check.

I am going to say first and foremost the venue does not compliment the food and that is to say this food should be in a restaurant on the hill; by itself; glistening in the sun rays :-) imagine that...But I digress. Even though the wait was the reason I could not give a 5 star rating, the ambience was AMAZING! The music and oooo the food. I was in heaven. I had the braised ribs, greens, and sweet potato puree...YASSSSSS I will return. The food was well worth the price and the extra bonus of a well dressed young gentleman playing lie music a + What I loved the most every table had their own full blown conversations going but no one made you feel uncomfortable or unwelcomed

This was our second year in a row and we went for my birthday dinner. The food was very good, dessert was equally as delicious. Love the Myrtle Peach Martini! The goat cheese salad is delicious but a little overkill on the goat cheese. Everything else was amazing.

We were wiling to fore go any other dinners out so that we could afford a spectacular dinner somewhere during our stay in Myrtle Beach. Me and my partner spent a lot of time scrolling through restaurant reviews and were confused at the amount of 'alaskan' snow crabs advertised in an southern atlantic town.... Aspen grille delivered on fresh locally caught fish-- we got the nights specials, flounder and red snapper. Thoughtful pairing on sides which made our entrees stand out and was more than enough food for two. We looked on their website and got the free dessert with any two entrees. We were sure we couldn't manage another bite, but the fresh rasp. sorbet with dark chocolate flourless cake somehow could not be resisted. Save up your money and prepare to get pampered. We won't need to eat out for a long time (nor could we afford to).

This was our favorite restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area (even though we only had time to sample a few). We let them know it was a special anniversary dinner and the staff made us feel like long-time friends. Surf and turf was delicious, we loved the oysters, I forget what GF had but she was super happy with it. Drinks and dessert, check. Service was top-notch, friendly and never missed a beat. Piano player was a nice touch (no singer, just jazz standards) and not remotely cheesy. In short, this had everything we look for from a dining out experience, and when we're in the area again, you can bet Aspen Grille is at the top of our list.

Fantastic highly recommend this. Our meal had great flavor. Goat cheese salad and grouper had full buttery flavor. The goat cheese salad was fantastic. Wife ordered the blueberry bread putting for desert and it was amazing. Great place highly recommended. Try the fried green tomatoes!!!!

My husband and I found Aspen Grille on a recent trip to Myrtle Beach thru Yelp and were not disappointed! The service from the time we walked thru the door until the time we left was exemplary. The food and wine were great! The fried green tomato appetizer and the 10-layer chocolate cake were fantastic! My husband had the crab cakes and I had the surf and turf as entrees and they were great as well. The jazz pianist added to the relaxed yet elegant ambiance. The chef circulating thru and talking to the guests was a nice touch. We will definitely come back!

We are not even done eating, but we felt the need to write a review just to make sure you eat here!! This is, by far, the best meal we've ever had in Myrtle Beach. We've been coming here since 2006 and make it a point to eat out at a nice restaurant at least once every time we visit. So far, we've been disappointed in almost ever place we've tried. Many are good, but none are great. And then we found this place. OMG! The scallops and risotto, such a masterful combination. The surf and turf is melt in your mouth. And you have to try the apple martini. It is the best I've ever had. If you get the fried green tomatoes (and you should), add the crab. It works!! We just finished dinner and are about to order dessert. I may have to come back and update this review, since the waiter just said the bread pudding tonight is blueberry and is "the best you'll ever have." Why wait until next year to come back!! There's always tomorrow....which reminds me, reservations recommended.

My wife and sister-in-law and I, went to dinner there tonight and just loved it! My wife had the surf and turf and I had the filet. It melted in your mouth! My sister-in-law had something that was like grouper , and she loved it. We ate salads before our main meal and were surprised at how fresh, and how large the salads were. And the dessert was beyond good! We had the special, a 10 layer chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream. The staff was so nice, from the greeter/hostess to our wonderful server,Dee. The whole experience was, in my wife's words , "very special." We will definitely be back!
Food was excellent!!!! Service was the same!!! Went on a Thursday and they had live music. It was the perfect atmosphere for my girlfriend and I. Portion size was perfect as well. No complaints what so ever. The waiter Kade was very attentive. And made sure to come back and see if everything was ok. Excellent service for the price we paid. Would have gone back the next night for dinner that's how good it was. Will definitely go here again my next trip

Better overall restaurant experience I have ever had. Atmosphere was romantic. Our waiter knew the menu inside & out. The food was exceptional. We had the fried green tomatoes with limb crab. Caesar salads. Shrimp bisque & tomato basil soup. Pork porterhouse chop & oven baked chicken breast with mushrooms. Every bite was heaven! Highly recommend aspen grille!
Found this place on Yelp and sooooooo glad we did. Sat at one of the high tops in the bar area as we did not have a reservation and to be honest, it worked out for the best. On the table was a small bar menu with a sampling of appetizers/small plates. We didn't need to look any further. Each offering on the menu looked better than the next so what did we do? Ordered one of each - shrimp tacos, Black Angus sliders with caramelized onions and blue cheese, seared tuna, risotto with spinach and mushrooms, steak tips, and fried green tomatoes with crab. The food was outstanding. We were in heaven! The two bartenders were attentive, friendly and fun. And...my dirty martini had blue cheese stuffed olives - I'll say no more!

Absolutely wonderful. Lovely seafood, delicious steaks, classy, attentive service. It doesn't get better than this. It's worth the price, too. And honestly, you're getting exceptional food. Shouldn't you pay more for your steak here than at Applebee's? We always try to make a stop here when we visit Myrtle Beach.

This was our first experience at this local restuarant. I must say a very good evening and meal in a very busy restuarant, especially for a Sunday night out of season at the beach! We had very good cocktails, very good appetizers (Fried Green Tomatoes --- Excellent), very good entrees, very good atmosphere, and very good service! The only negative and the only thing keeping the Aspen Grille from being 5 Stars was the price of the Entrees. We will return again.

Disappointing. Uncomfortably cold inside. Really slow service -- was nearly an hour from when we were seated to when we received our appetizers. Were seated at last booth by the bar where we felt a very annoying vibration coming up through the floor the entire time we were there. Were told there weren't any open tables to move to. Food was pretty good, but didn't make up for the otherwise sub-par experience and wasn't really worth the price.

It should be 4.5 for imaginative dishes and excellent service. Grouper was prepared in an unusual manner exquisitely presented. Server was very knowledgeable. Definitely a return to place. Dress is upscale casual with great artwork.

After seeing mainly chain restaurants and uninspired menus we found Aspen Grille. All three of us enjoyed our entrees the Duck special and beet goat cheese salad were especially good. We had to eat at the bar as there were no tables available until after 9. The bartender gave us great service and was attentive. The Bread Pudding dessert was one of the better Bread Puddings I've tried. Nice live music added to the ambience.

Great restaurant serving wonderful fresh local food. Most dishes on the menu list main ingredients from sustainable farms, and the food tastes amazing! The Fried Green Tomatoes with lump crab meat was a new twist to a dish we love. The Chefs daily risotto was some of the best I have ever had, the risotto was perfectly cooked not too mushy or AL dente. The daily fish special was snapper over jasmine rice with spinach which was flash fried in a pan with olive oil making them crispy, but melt in your mouth at the same time. Kind of like adult cotton candy. The restaurant is comfortable, warm, and quite. Even though it has as open kitchen. The service is personable, but not intrusive. Our server Elliott did a great job sharing his knowledge of the menu, and really knew how the dishes were prepared. Which is a key for me giving the 5th star. The only thing I would change is the service style from a single server to a front waiter/back waiter service. But nothing that would make me not come back, just a point for consideration. Overall a fantastic surprise in heavily saturated chain restaurant Mecca. We will be back! Bravo! The Careys

We ate there our first night and tried 2 other restaurants, then ate there next 4 nights...it is that good! We ate at the bar and Skully is a knowledgeable bartender, knows the menu and guided us to fabulous meals 5 times. Chef-owner, Curry, has varied menu and he is very talented. Nice wine list and ambiance too.

We went here for my wife's birthday and our Anniversary!! It was Awesome!! We even got to meet the chef and owner. All the Food was spectacular, Veal, Mahi Mahi, Lobster. Even the sides were amazing. Live Beautiful Music and the 10 layer cake dessert special was the perfect finishing touch!! This is definitely our favorite upscale restaurant in Myrtle Beach but no suite or tie necessary. We'll be back every trip!!

Excellent. True top notch white table cloth dining with professional prompt and accurate service. Very amicable atmosphere and decor. Nice live entertainment although slightly too loud for a small dining area. It was still very good. Our server was very helpful as my wife almost always picks two or three items and asks for the servers recommendation. His suggestive techniques were both tactful and spot on. I had the lamb and my wife had the catch of the day. We also had a beef tips appetizer, French onion soup and the house greens salad. For dessert we had the sour cherry pie and the German chocolate sundae. Every item was very good and the presentation was excellently done. My only suggestion would be regarding the flatware. Though my lamb was very tender, the knife I had was very dull. Not a major issue. We highly recommend this restaurant and will return again. And as a side note, my wife is a Customer Development Specialist with the largest family owned wholesale food distribution sales company in the Midwest, Canada, New England and many southern states (soon the Carolina's).

On the outside... let's just say I was skeptical. On the inside... Who knew? I went to the Aspen Grill for a birthday dinner while I was in Myrtle Beach. It was one of those places where you really, really hoped it was worth the money after looking at the menu. And well ... it was. DRINKS: Between a cucumber, pear, and basil martini, a couple glasses of tawny ports, and an extreme Irish coffee... Let's just say that these were professionally done, meaning they didn't skimp on the booze, but didn't put in so much that all you could taste was the burn. En short, perfectly executed. SERVICE: Very friendly and professional. This trip was more of a whim, so we didn't have reservations, but the hostess still managed to wrangle us a table very promptly despite the long wait and reservation list. Affable, friendly, attentive, and completely non-judgmental when we told them that we were camping, and had gotten ready to go to dinner in an out house. FOOD: This is one of those restaurants that only has 5 things on their menu, but it's all so good that that's all they need to have. They change it up frequently, but I suggest you try the wild mushroom and duck risotto app if it's still around. The best risotto I've ever had, hands down. For dinner, everyone actually got the same thing... braised scallops with venison medallions with whipped potatoes and sauteed veggies. It was a chef's special, but if this is still around, I highly recommend. The venison was marinated and cooked very well; no gamey taste whatsoever. The scallops were giant and fresh as one would expect on the coast. Also, portion sizes were pretty hefty. There were no disappointments in this meal from anyone. I don't know how we managed to save room for dessert, but we did. We all shared some creme brulee, and proper key lime pie. When we got our bill, it was accompanied by some espresso-dusted truffles that the chef had just made and wanted an opinion on. And yes... those were good, too. ATMOSPHERE: Like I said before, don't let the outside fool you. It's in a small strip, but the inside is dark, rich, comfortable, and intimate. An older gentleman was playing some soft jazz over in the corner. I'd say romantic place to take a date in Myrtle Beach #1, gentlemen. En short, this place I would definitely frequent again, but probably just for a special occasion because it is a bit pricey. Despite the price, I bestow upon Aspen Grille a 5 star rating because I know that behind that swinging door, there's a chef that's lost in their own little world of unconventional and savory dishes, madly experimenting on us customer guinea pigs. And I like that.

Could be so much better. Atmosphere seem to attract older locals, with piano player and singer. The attitude of the restaurant needs to be more updated. Food, fried green tomatoes were not very good. To me the tomatoes were just too hard and tasteless. However the shrimp and grits were terrific. Sat at the bar and staff was great. Good specials at times, half off glasses of wine half off appetizers.

What a wonderful place! We loved the low-light, soft jazz music (live) atmosphere which was apparent as soon as we walked in the door. Both my filet and my wife's strip steak were cooked to perfection. The bernaise sauce was impeccable. With an excellent wine menu (the Italian Pinot Grigio was perfect with our salad) and wonderful dessert menu, our meal was a delight! The service was friendly and always went above and beyond. Expect to spend $100+ for two when you dine here, but it is worth every penny.

Food was great service was great. This will be a must go to the next time in myrtle beach. The fried green tomatoes app is a must have. We were also lucky to have the pork fat sliders which the home made pickle gave that sandwich a taste bud party. The shrimp and grits were very tasty. Also the lamb porterhouse hit the spot but the potato gratin was out of this world. Finally the desert we ordered was the toasted pound cake and that sealed a perfect dinner. I said once and I'll say it again we will be going back.

If you're a tourist sick of terrible tourist food, stop looking and head to the Aspen Grille. This chef-owned restaurant is staffed with great local talent at the back and front of the house (and locally sourced ingredients!). Our meal was well worth the price. Loved the fried green tomatoes and crab cakes, but take your server's advice on any specials you won't want to miss. Best wine list we encountered during our vacation. Plus, our friendly but not TOO friendly server gave us the low-down on other great eats for our next trip.

hands down the best place to eat in myrtle beach. not many very nice restaurants here. The scallops and lobster were amazing here, cooked to perfection! and there was a live singer and pianist. its was perfect place for dinner!

Very good food with mostly locally sourced ingredients. A really great find among the chain after chain restaurants or touristy restaurants down on Ocean Blvd. Excellently prepared filet, perfectly cooked and accompanied with sauteed onions and mushrooms. Veal Aspen was also quite good - not terribly taken with the coating on the veal, shrimp and scallops - but everything was cooked to perfection. Good selection of wines both by the glass and by the bottle. Great deserts - bravo Rebecca. Absolutely spectacular dark chocolate coated frozen key lime pie. You need to go and I will be going back next time in MB. I wish we had a similar restaurant on Tybee Island.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at AG, our first time there. Very friendly staffs, great foods, romantic atmosphere. We will come back again!
Exceptional food and incredible service! We were visiting the myrtle beach area, and relied completely on our waiter's recommendations. We enjoyed their catch of the day - hog snapper, and it was amazing. Great atmosphere for a leisurely dinner!

I took my wife and son here -- tired of the kitsch at Myrtle, this lovely restaurant was a welcome break. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere was superb.

I had high expectations of this place, but once i got there the food was ok, its nothing special in my opinion. I have gotten equally as good food and better from chain restaurants. Two friends had the steak, they both said it was good but not what they were expecting. I had the free range chicken which was pretty tough, the mashed potatoes that came with it were pretty much a wet mess with all the sauce the put on the dish. Was the atmosphere nice, yes, is the food worth the price, not by a long shot. I should also mention the food wasn't overly hot either when served. Its not terrible but i wont be returning.

There are not many restaurants like this in Myrtle Beach. They have the best Scallops and Fried green tomatoes we have ever had. Service was great!! If you are looking for a guaranteed great meal, go here!

Nice place and good food although not a lot of seafood for a place at the beach. I had a wonderful steak. Jazz trio played. Restaurant is in a little strip mall. Server was attentive and friendly. Yummy desert big enough to share. Excellent wine selection. Chef owned with locally sourced food as season permits, so always a plus.

My first 5 star rating for Myrtle Beach. Absolutely nothing negative about our experience there. Chef-owned, terrific interior and ambience, clean, friendly greetings and welcomes from all the staff, terrific service and, of course, outstanding food. The cold, marinated shrimp salad app was well-balanced, tender and fresh-tasting. Lobster bisque was terrific. I usually don't care for sherry but it really rounded out the bisque in a subtle and delicate way. My veal medallion entree with sea scallops and shrimp could not have been any better. Others with me had a chicken dish and sea scallop dish they equally enjoyed. My $8 glass of malbec was also great. Shame on you if you leave Myrtle Beach without trying Aspen Grille!

Very good authentic SC Food. Would suggest reservations. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered two fish dishes and fried green tomatoes and they were all very tasty. Definitely recommend.

The crab cakes (entree served on risotto) were perfect, not too sweet or too much sauce. They made me wonder what all the "crab cakes" I've had before actually were. Risottos (on appetizer and entree menues) were both delicate and good. Nice ambiance, good service, good wine on the menu. Calimari was very good too, very fresh.

Went in without a reservation and sat at the bar. They had some live music that was just right. We split the large filet and a vegetable plate. In all we got 4 sides -- the green beans, risotto, grits and mixed veggies. All were delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Having been to Myrtle Beach once a year for the last 3 years, we struggle to find good food at local restaurants. Aspen Grille is a wonderful all around experience. The owner/chef came out to thank us for coming to the restaurant and to see if everything was to our liking. The waiter was very accomplished, attentive and helpful with menu selections. The ambiance is fine from our perspective. The piano player was a nice addition. We were seated right in front of the piano and we didn't have any trouble with conversation. The food was great. Steaks were prepared as requested. The crab cake is great -- made the way is supposed to be -- just enough filler to hold the lump crab together, no vegetables and nicely seasoned. The children's menu is much better than most -- grilled shrimp and rice, chicken parm and a cheese burger were our selections and they were well-received. Desserts were also very tasty! Blueberry bread pudding was unbelievable. Flourless chocolate cake was delicious. We were 2 adults and 3 children (9, 7 & 7). Many of the nice restaurants we go to are not always inviting when they see 3 children. The previous night we went to a big Australian chain named for a famous golfer. Despite many open tables in the main dining room with views of water, we were tucked into a corner next to a service station and a doorway for table and chair storage. The Aspen Grille was welcoming and seated us in the middle of the restaurant. One of the bar patrons stopped by our table and complimented the children on their good behavior. You can spend a little bit more at one of the well-known chain steak houses but you won't have a better meal than the Aspen Grille.

Definitely had a good experience. Dined their on a Friday night a week ago. A couple of areas to improve on - made a reservation - yet our table was not ready when we arrived. The restaurant was not busy or on a wait. We waited at the bar and ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine. Came to the table with drinks, but it still took the server at least 5 minutes to come to the table. We all enjoyed our meals.......and the food was great. In the end, the server did well, but when you are spending $50 on a bottle of wine......3 at the table and numerous drinks, appetizers and dessert I expect the server to be spot on. We split the bill amongst ourselves and this seemed to confuse our server too. We ultimately just gave credit cards and told he what amounts to put on the cards, yet it seemed to confuse her. Took quite a while to execute payment. I really enjoyed the food.......service was good, just not great. Will return...........

Out of this world amazing fresh food! The only negative about is they are closed Monday so we could only go one day instead of two. The presentation is top notch and you can watch all the food being prepared. We had the fried green tomatoes, lobster bisque, and scallops. I really wish we had room for dessert because every time a waiter passed my table with one I had to ask them what it was. They all looked so amazing. The portions are large and well worth the prices. Everything here is so fresh! Also, love that there is free range meats on the menu! The chef came to our table which was a really nice touch. I wish we could go down there just to eat here again!

The reviews on this restaurant are legitimate. I was pleasantly surprised with Aspen Grille on a recent trip to Myrtle Beach with friends. I think it's safe to say (without a good basis for comparison as a disclaimer) that this place is one of the best in all of Myrtle Beach. Again, I do not have a vast knowledge of dining in this town, but I can't imagine too many restaurants that are better than Aspen Grille, period. The menu offers a good variety of seafood and meat, with several eclectic options. I had the triggerfish special with a red bell pepper, pecan and garlic topping. It was served with "fried" spinach, which was like eating wafer-thin spinach flakes, perfectly seasoned. This dish was absolutely delicious. My friends had the crab-stuffed flounder and surf-n-turf, respectively. I did not try the lobster, but both the flounder and the filet were fantastic. In fact, I would say the Aspen's filet is one of the beset I've tried. It was perfectly cooked with unbelievable flavor. We also ordered spinach and braised red cabbage on the side -- both were also delicious. I also have to say that I pay attention to the usage of so-called "taste" ingredients that are actually horrible for your health, such as heavy butter, salt, etc. I found that the Aspen Grille made great food without burdening the selections with things that taste good but wreck your health. The service at Aspen is also top-notch. Even the hostess checked on us during our meal. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and did not steer us wrong when it came to recommendations. Bartender provided very stiff drinks, so if you're looking for a lot of value in your adult beverages, you will get quite a bit of alcohol in each offering.

Went to Myrtle Beach on the off season to celebrate a dual birthday. Found this place online and made a dinner reservation for Saturday night. We arrived to live music and were seated promptly. A birthday card greeted us on the table. I ordered the veal Aspen and my husband ordered the filet with a lobster tail. Everything was excellent. The meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I've never tasted a scallop so well prepared. My shrimp was a bit bland compared to everything else but I assure you my plate was clean at the end. If you order from the bar, be prepared because they are not stingy with the alcohol. I had a little sticker shock when the bill came but we both agreed it was well worth it.

After days of tourist food, I finally had the opportunity to come to Aspen Grille. The market fish is indeed fresh. The fried spinach melts in your mouth. Every dish is gourmet perfect. Enjoy!

Food here is very good, but the kitchen can get slammed on a Saturday night. Nothing exciting or innovative about this menu but the food (with the exception of the cold calamari) was cooked perfectly all around! The desserts were wonderful (I had a strawberry shortcake biscuit that rivaled my moms!). The steaks were very tasty but a little pricey for the portion size. Ribeye was cut a little thin for my taste but I'm a New Yorker and were known for huge thick steaks. It was very flavorful and cooked perfectly however. The waiter forgot to add our lobster side and apologized profusely and comped it and my dessert as well (very classy) and the lobster was cooked perfectly when it did arrive (albeit after my entree was finished). The fried oysters were plump juicy and huge and the manager at the door was lovely too. It was a good meal with great service with great company.

All I have to says this: if you do not go to the Aspen Grill, you are doing a huge dis-service to yourself. Yummmmm! Fried green tomatoes are wonderful. Make sure to get the crab on top. We opted to do a tasting, Chef's choice. Every dish was savory, well-presented, fresh, and of high quality. The exec chef and owner, Chef Curry, was very friendly, as was the entire staff. I travel a lot and dine all over the U.S., and have to say, Aspen Grille was a real treat. Exceptional staff, delicious food, excellent wine list, and great ambiance... Hat's off to Chef Curry and his team! Cheers, and thanks for making my dining experience in MB so wonderful.

Great restaurant !!! Have not had Seafood this good in years. I had the blackened Haddock, delicious. I don't eat hush puppies, but I tried theirs and they were awesome. Price was fair. Our server provided excellent service. Sorry cant remember her name. She was the young lady who served, by the door.

Great atmosphere. We went on a Thursday and got to hear the live piano. We had the fried oysters for an ap. They were great. I had the pork tenderloin and my wife had the sea scallops. Both were exceptional. We also started with a goat cheese salad which was also extremely good. The service was excellent and we were able to get right in for a table at 7:30 PM. You may find a wait in summer times as the restaurant is not very big.

I'd give them five stars for food and atmosphere...but our waiter was a little attitudinal. Think it started with the bottle of wine we brought in...they did advertise we could do that for a 15dollar corkage fee. it worked for us, seeing that we had sort of overestimated our wine consumption capabilities for the week. Then after ordering our meal, and I asked to have extra lemon while ordering, upon having our meals served, still no lemon. I asked for some and our waiter said I should try my meal first. Dutiful I did and requested lemon...was given two large pieces which I totally used up. Also, ordered the warm goat cheese/beet salad, but ordered it with balsamic dressing rather than the truffle dressing. Our waiter said he thought I should not have that salad if I didn t want the truffle dressing. I said I still wanted it, just with different dressing. he brought me the salad, with the truffle dressing on the side...I had to tell him to please bring me the balsamic dressing. He did and the salad was great...but could have used more beets...There were just two small pieces of beets in there. SO, other than our waiter, who sort of left a bad taste in my mouth, I would recommend this restaurant because our meals were wonderful!

Great place!! Servers are very knowledgable of wines and fish. Meals are great priced compared to comparable restaurants. Try the fish cheeks!!! Also the shrimp and grits... I like to eat and this really filled me up.

From the ambiance to the ridiculously awesome service I was awed. Our waiter Wayne knew his stuff and every suggestion was delicious. We came here on a Friday and they had a piano player. She had a very nice voice and the volume was perfect. Loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough where you could talk and here the other person. We both enjoyed specials that were perfectly cooked and tastes wonderful. Try the fried green tomatoes and have them add crab. Our waiter suggested this and wow what a great way to start the meal. Do yourself a favor and dine here.

Just got back and it was a great meal. We went during restaurant week and they had a very nice 3-course fixed price meal. We got an array of entrees including hangar steak, shrimp and grits, and surf and turf. All were excellent. Service was excellent as well. Wayne did a great job. The woman that made the chocolate cake shared the recipe with my wife and it was great. They had a pianist that night. Just a wonderful experience.

After searching Myrtle Beach for some locally owned restaurants, we stumbled upon this one. The waiter was excellent - very professional and chatty yet not hovering. The food was outstanding - lots of unique dishes with good, fresh flavor. We enjoyed some cocktails as well, which we ordered off the fresh-fruit martini list. They were tasty and poured right at the table. My only gripe (and that seems extreme to say that), was that my husband and I decided to split a bunch of appetizers and small plates, and it ended up being way too much food. We were just about full after bread, one app, and salads, so we had a lot to take home. And we didn't order dessert because that would have put us over! Overall, it was an excellent experience! Support the locals!

This place does not measure up to the hefty pricetag. Beware. My mom & I were not impressed. We were seated at a table with a condensation drip, had a long winded server and ate an underwhelming $32 filet mingnon. If you order a steak, don't get the $8 bleu cheese butter topping, it's incredibly thick and not complementary to the meat. There are other toppings to try, which we did not. I ordered my steak medium and it definitely could have spent a little more time on the grill. Good fried green tomatoes app, tasty flounder for $28, unoffensive french onion soup. Don't be mislead by the half price apps from 4-7, it's only if you dine at the bar. Extensive wine list, salads looked crisp and fresh. Overall, overrated. Three stars for ambiance and fried green tomatoes. Try flying fish market at barefoot for a good, less pricey meal on the water or chiante south for a pricier meal that's completely worth it.

First time at this place and definitely not the last. This ia an upscal erestaurant with snappy-casual dress. Atmosphere, furnishings, table dressing all very nice. We didn't have reservations but were seated promply next to a 3 piece band (stand up bass, keyboard, and percussion) who were quite good and subdued, so they didn't interfere with conversation. Had their cucumber martini and ordered a second but this time with fresh basil, the magical herb for martinis. We split the goat cheese and red beet salad as well as the flash fried oysters. Both very very good. Wife had one of the evening specials...petite filet with chunks of lobster served with a cream-sherry-shallot sauce...incredibly good. I had the Aspen veal that was sliced nice and thin and served with perfectly prepared scallops and shrimp with risotto and two nice asparagus spears. Dessert was a peach cobbler served warm with a caramel sauce and strawberry. Everything was excellent as was the very attentive server...Wayne. Reminded me of Kevin James. If you go here, ask for him. This is definitely a DA...Do Again.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Aspen Grille. The food was superior, by far the best available at Myrtle Beach. The restaurant has great ambience, a nice bar and very good service. Check out the menu on their web site. You won't go wrong here - it's a great restaurant!

This is a classic example of not judging a book by its cover! It really is a hidden gem! As soon as you walk in the door, you totally forget you are in a shopping plaza restaurant. The location is so unassuming. It was so nice to support a local business and not a franchise! The dining room is dim and welcoming. Perfect for date night, or a nice evening with friends. We were a bit worried about being under-dressed (we were on vacation and didn't bring "nice" clothes, but it wasn't a problem. There were people dressed very nice, but quite a few people were dressed casually. So do not let that scare you away if you are on vacation!!! My friend and husband had the french onion soup and LOVED it! They both killed their bowls pretty quick and really enjoyed it! All 3 of us ordered steaks. We had New York Strip, Rib-eye, and Filet. None of us left a morsel on the plate. They were all cooked perfectly to each persons liking and so tender. I had the New York Strip, cooked medium. There was a perfectly seasoned "crust" on the steak and it was wonderful! My husband and I had the pea and corn risotto. It was very creamy, and the corn added a nice, light, sweetness to it. My friend had the mashed potatoes and she said they were very nice. We all had the Bernaise with our steaks and it was so good! For dessert we had the Fig & Pear Bread Pudding. OH WOW! Bread pudding isn't usually the first dessert I go for, but our servers said it was great. Her recommendation did not disappoint! It was great. The portion was enough for 2, maybe more.

One of Myrtle Beach's hidden gems: Aspen Grille is a classy upscale spot that champions elevated takes on Carolina Cuisine. It's hidden away in a strip mall off of kings hwy...yes, albeit questionable, once you get inside you forget where you are. Soft lighting, upscale table settings, a swanky bar, local artists on display etc...Aspen provides a calm and friendly atmosphere for a hearty meal. Some of the staff seem less apt for the type of restaurant AG is, but we were fortunate to have Brynn, who was phenomenal. The food was spectacular with several boisterous and artful plates in the starter and main courses. The wine selection is decent but limited on non-staple varietals...but what wines they do have are great. The dessert menu was honestly the only let down as the options were limited to standard and unimaginative dishes. Stars of the show for this meal were: duck breast with sweet potato puree/red cabbage and the sea scallops with risotto and spinach.

A.MA.ZING!! We were looking for seafood that didn't involve being fried and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere was very romantic and intimate, surprisingly, due to being located in a strip mall. They have a nice selection of wine and are very attentive (Brynn was our waitress.) We ordered the crab cake appetizer special.... To die for! My husband and I both got the scallops and were very satisfied. Served over mushroom risotto and fried spinach... I almost wish we knew about the portions beforehand, we could have split it if we ordered an extra side of scallops. We will definitely be back!!

Good food in a sea of chain restaurants! Warm goat cheese and beet salad was delicious. Fried green tomatoes were just okay. My husband had the escargot and said it was spot on. He also had the grouper with succotash and Carolina rice. I had seared scallops over mushroom risotto w/ fried spinach. Both entrees were very tasty and the fish was cooked perfectly. Nice wine selection. Good service and pleasant decor/atmosphere. Would definitely return next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Best place in myrtle beach. Food is always good and will keep you coming back for more. Can never go wrong with any of the fish entrees. Make sure to get the mushroom risotto as it is to die for. Great music, great food, even better people. Allen and Skully the bartenders are very entertaining and the manager Julia is very accommodating and goes above and beyond.

VERY GREAT service, good food! I had the trigger fish plate. It was not as flavorful as I would have liked - but it was still very light and good. My guy had the duck and was SO VERY HAPPY! We started the night with fried oysters and escargot.. both perfect. And to repeat myself - the service was great. Nice ambiance as well.

Fabulous, chef inspired, locally sourced cuisine. Excellent service by Herman. He was perfectly attentive, had fun with us and took great care of us from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable and well versed with the menu and was comfortable with himself, which made us feel comfortable. Ambience was nice and not overly pretentious. The crafted drinks were excellent. The only drawback for us was the live entertainment was just a touch too loud. Good piano player, vocals not as polished, but more than adequate and good enough for the average listener. Otherwise a PERFECT evening spent as we celebrate vacation and time together.

We had a wonderful dual-birthdays dinner at Aspen Grill last week. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. There were 9 people in our party and we had appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, and dessert. Every dish was delicious!

We asked 2 locals for steak/seafood recommendations and were told to go to buffets, yuck! So we came on yelp and found this great restaurant. My sisters and I ate here on a Sunday night. We each ordered a cocktail prior to dinner. I liked that they brought a chilled martini glass and poured the drink in the glass at the table. The french onion was great, a lot of cheese and good flavor! I had the filet mignon with roasted potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly. My sisters had the surf and turf Aspen style and the scallops. They both enjoyed their entrees. Our server informed us there was one slice of 10 layer cake left in house, so we ordered the cake to share. The slice of cake was huge and very good! Service was great. I only have good things to say about our meal and would highly recommend to others! The restaurant needs to get rid of that cart they use to wheel back and forth to serve food and drinks.... It's cheap looking and noisy!

This restaurant was recommended by my father in law who lives down here and it did not disappoint. Everything from the service to the food was excellent. They had a stuffed flounder special that my wife had and it was phenomenal. I had the surf and turf as I am a big lobster fan and the filet Mignon was amazing probably one of the best I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and was still so juicy. The special soup was a squash succotash and even that was good. I come down to myrtle beach at least four times a year and this is definitely one of the best restaurants that I have been to. Will definitely be coming back again.

Market fish - grouper on succotash was divine. Veggie plate also very nice. Seared tuna/wasabi appetizer - my wife remarked she could just order a bunch of these for dinner. Good lounge singer - nice voice, not too loud. Service was very appropriate. Our server was there when we needed her but not intrusive. Best restaurant I've been to in Myrtle Beach.

By far one of THE best restaurants in Myrtle Beach. On our last trip there, we ate here 3x!!! A little pricey but very worth it. This is top-notch, fine dining! The dishes are so well-crafted with unique ingredients that compliment each other to the T! You must try this place! The only thing I wish they had was a rich, fudgey, chocolate cake!

Great food! Very pricey! Scallops in the picture was huge, I ordered it but not that size. However very flavorable. Lobster tail, filet mignon everything was great. Wines were rip off. Ex. Jlohr retail $10bottle was listed to $55per bottle. So I jus had beer. Nice to gice it a try

(5)James M.
(5)Sophia M.
We have the best food, the best service and I got to say I would recommend this place 100%. Ask for David, most incredible service ever
(5)David S.
Very good food, large wine list. The onion soup is amazing, a must have. Mains were good. Over all the food for the price is good but could be better.
(4)Jared M.

(4)Connie T.
Delicious food and beautiful decor. Very NYC like. A bit pricey but Perfect for a romantic special dinner.
(4)Joseph M.
(5)Leena S.
(4)Jan B.
Very romantic place with great Service. We started with the Escargot which was wonderful. There was an elderly gentleman playing an electric piano that added to the romantic nature of the event. We had the surf and turf which was the special of the night. It was very good.
(4)Sheri R.
(3)Eddie L.
Great meal, food was excellently prepared. We had the tuna appetizer, founder special topped with crab and Lamb. No complaints. Only reason not 5 star rating is service was a little slow but can be expected with how everything was prepared. Expect to be be there for close to 2hrs.
(4)Lorand M.
Food here keeps getting better....with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients....excellent fish. Pleasant staff...not the most engaging bartenders....unless they know you.....which is fine. Nice to have live music that is not too loud to enjoy your lovely company...
(4)Jerry F.

Excellent!

One of the best Friendly staff Live music on Friday and. Saturday Good martini Excellent tuna appetizers Calamari was so so

(5)Jo K.
Very good food!! LOVED the seared scallops with spinach! We got there early--good thing because we didn't have a reservation and the place filled up quickly. Very pricey but it was "fine dining". Will go back! Thanks!
(5)Gray P.
Excellent food. Lamb chops were perfect. Tomato basis soup was excellent. Great staff and good atmosphere.
(4)Kyle P.

Having read previous posts about the Aspen Grille, I was certainly intrigued with its Menu items and seasonal delights. My girlfriend and I walked in with about a 2 week pre-reserved seat on a Tuesday night, which they are fairly strict on, because the place does have some what limited seating and people were calling in for last minute seats and were turned away. Service was very good, they were knowledgeable on the Menu and service was prompt and courteous, with a variable amount of charm. The Wine list was well apportioned to the types of food served, with a smattering of Cabs, Rieslings, to Reds, Shiraz, Merlot etc. and since my Girlfriend is more of the Wine person, it would be nice to get her view on this. The Bar Menu, was certainly well apportioned with a nice selection of Single Malts, the Macallan 18 and 21 , Glen Levitt etc. The Food Menu was just about the right size keeping it as simple as possible to allow for a stable menu which keeps the Kitchen tighter in terms of knowing cooking times and prep, plating to table times... We had an appetizer ( the Fried Green tomato with crabmeat, which was a several time highlight on previous Yelp Posts, and it didn't disappoint, the tomatoes had that slightly sweet but tangy taste, with a nice and light flour coating, seasoned pretty well with fresh crab and a Béchamel sauce that wasn't too heavy. Delightful dish with just enough servings for two to keep it light and ready for the next course. We Decided to continue to Keep it light and ordered the Scallops with a adjusted accompaniment of Mushroom Risotto as compared to the corn and pea risotto as part of the original dish. After the first few bites, we quickly shook our heads in amazement in how well the food paired together with the fried spinach leaves, and risotto paired with the scallop brine, fresh taste. This portion of the meal took about what seemed like an hour given how slowly we ate not wanting to finish the dish to its end. For Dessert, we went with a non floured chocolate cake with a red raspberry sorbet that was drizzled with a dark chocolate ganache type of consistency and a lavender cream which when sampled all together in small bites.. out of this world and I am not even a chocolate person really!... another 30-40min went by on this alone. My girlfriend also decided to try their dessert house coffee which had liqueur and Kaluaha and some other concoction added in which ended up making it tasting like a bit of coffee flavored moon-shine which would set the largest person afloat on the SS Sleepyville, happytown, buzzcrossing... a slight complaint maybe to some looking for more depth of flavor over a punch in the throat. but overall this place is very worth the time and effort. We will be returning.

Exquisite food! Fabulous service. Terrible chairs. The product this place puts out does not match the location or interior. The chairs were terrible. Invest in your place people! But the food and service were AMAZING! New chairs = 5 stars.
(4)Jessica Y.
great food & great service. the goat cheese crostini appetizer was excellent and make sure to get the flourless chocolate cake for dessert!
(5)Stephanie W.
Definitely pricey but the service, food, and atmosphere are worth it. Warm goat cheese crostini was delicious. The house-made cocktail sauce combined with the bacon with the NC fried oysters made a perfect combo of smoky and spicy flavors that my companion didn't care for but I loved. The highlight of the dinner was the red snapper topped with a corn succotash over a mushroom risotto- not too heavy, not too light. My mahi special was good but the lump crab had a few too many small shell pieces for my liking so I pushed it off of the plate and enjoyed the rest (including a creamy, rich bed of puréed celery root). All in all, a great dinner!
(4)Mary N.
We truly enjoyed the Valentine's Day 4 - Course menu. Not knowing what to expect, it exceeded our expectations. I suggest trying the Oyster Rockafeller.
(4)Kathryn E.
(4)Greg M.
(4)Eric P.
Cheers
(5)m. f.
Food was quite good. Enjoyed the bartender and the service. Flour less chocolate cake and crab cakes are recommended. Didn't love the location.
(4)Quinn G.
This place was very good. I had the fish if the day which was hog-snapper. It was good but it was lacking a little bit of flavor. Some of the other entrees looked very appetizing. If you plan on going to this restaurant, make sure you are prepared for the expensive check.
(4)MaZoe A.
(4)Deb C.
Great place and food! ...Love David the waiter and the cute hostess is super helpful and friendly. We will NY but got to Myrtle Beach , we always make that one of our special dinners. 4 stars!!
(4)Laurie S.
This was our second year in a row and we went for my birthday dinner. The food was very good, dessert was equally as delicious. Love the Myrtle Peach Martini! The goat cheese salad is delicious but a little overkill on the goat cheese. Everything else was amazing.
(4)sarah c.
(5)Buck O.
This is a wonderful dinner for a date or a couple but a little expensive for more than 2!!!!
(5)Hunter B.
(5)Brian M.
(4)Hannah P.
(5)J E.
(5)John W.
(5)Taylor Y.
My girlfriend and I tried Aspen Grille based on the recommendation of our hotel bartender. We do not mind spending money on food (as that is normally the focus of our vacations), but we don't feel like we entirely got our money's worth here. Main reason the rating is 4 stars instead of 5. First and foremost the service was great. The hostess stopped by twice to check up on us throughout the meal which is something we've never seen from a hostess so that was nice. Also, our waitress Dee, was a sweetheart. Onto the food... We started with the escargot and warm goat cheese crostinis. The escargot was your typical escargot. Pretty hard to mess up. The crostinis were really good as well. If you're a fan of goat cheese I recommend you trying them. She got the scallops with fried spinach and mushroom orzo for her entrée. The scallops were melt in your mouth and the fried spinach and orzo complimented them great. I think I finished her leftovers for her! I got the Beeler's Duroc Pork Porterhouse Chop. It came with potatoes and bacon braised vegetables which were good. The pork itself was a little dry and left me wishing I'd ordered the scallops instead. Overall, if you're willing to spend money on a normal night's dinner then I recommend trying Aspen Grille. But if you're celebrating an occasion or this is kind of your "splurge" meal you could maybe do better.
(4)Michael J.
(5)Bob F.
Very nice atmosphere, good service and excellent food - we did happy hour in the bar and on top of it all got a great value. This will become part of our regular rotation!
(5)Clara P.
(5)David S.
5 stars....for Myrtle Beach... The best restaurant I have been to in Myrtle Beach. In a town that has so many bad restaurants, Aspen Grill is a breath of fresh air. I have family in Myrtle beach and have to visit often. After eating at many restaurants in the area, Aspen is superior. We had a large party of ten. They were extremely accommodating. The portions were large, and a good value for fine dining. I had a grouper special with fresh oysters. It was fabulous. Perfectly cooked and a good sized portion. A very creative interpretation of low country cuisine. For desert, I had a crime brûlée. Not the best I ever had. I wish the top was warmer. The dining room itself was warm and comfortable, but a bit dated. Our waiter, Wayne, was terrific. Engaging when he needed to be, patient with our fussy eater, and knowledgable.
(5)Lorna K.
(5)John V.
(5)Jon H.
(4)Ed K.
Very nice meal.
(4)L G.
(2)Susasn v.
It should be 4.5 for imaginative dishes and excellent service. Grouper was prepared in an unusual manner exquisitely presented. Server was very knowledgeable. Definitely a return to place. Dress is upscale casual with great artwork.
(4)Cathy B.
(4)Anthony C.
Bravo! The Careys
(5)Eric B.
(5)Todd S.
(5)KC M.
Absolutely perfect. Food, service, ambiance, all just perfect. Guitar player was not too loud and very good. Save room for desert!!!!
(5)Dean H.
(5)Danielle G.
(5)Steve A.
(3)Ben G.
We ate here our last night in Myrtle Beach and this did not disappoint. Excellent atmosphere, excellent service and excellent food! We will definitely go out of our way to dine here on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.
(5)Scot G.
(5)Joe L.
(5)Ricci T.
Great service, great food. My fruitarian boyfriend found lots of choices and I got my fix of surf and turf. Great place! Would go again!
(5)Annie W.
(4)Johnny C.
hands down the best place to eat in myrtle beach. not many very nice restaurants here. The scallops and lobster were amazing here, cooked to perfection! and there was a live singer and pianist. its was perfect place for dinner!
(5)Dave L.

I was really glad I looked on Yelp to find a nice night for my wife and I for our wedding anniversary. We went to the Aspen Grille based on everyone else's reviews and were really glad we did. Ill explain at the end of the review why they did not get a 5 however let me walk you through our experience. We had a 5:30 reservation and walked in at 5:10 and were immediately brought to our booth. We both started out with a glass of the Riesling which was very yummy. We then were brought out our appetizers and we had to order two since everyone raved about the Fried Green tomatoes and we also wanted to try their risotto. So we got the Fried Green tomatoes without crab meat but they were amazing. They literally melted in our mouths! We also had the Shrimp Risotto which was also to die for. I almost did not want to give it to my wife to try. We then moved onto our entrees which my wife had the Seared Scallops with Fried Spinach and Corn Risotto. The scallops were plump with flavor and the fried spinach had a weird texture but had a unique and great taste. I ordered the Hangar Steak with Bacon Braised Cabbage and Fingerling Potatoes. I originally ordered the steak medium but the waiter informed me to get it medium rare because it will tend to get tougher at medium. I was very happy with his recommendation because the steak came out great. The cabbage was an amazing taste with the hints of bacon that just make it more succulent. The potatoes were a nice addition. We both ordered the main entrees because we had a coupon for a free dessert but in hindsight we could have ordered the medium dishes because we spent an additional $14 more to get a free dessert valued at $7-8, oh well you live and learn. We did order dessert which was the Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée. That was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Almond Joy Martini to accompany it and it was a great pairing. The flavors of both the creme brûlée and the martini were a great ending to a great dinner. Now onto why they did not get a 5 from me. My wife and I get stereotyped a lot due to our age so when the waiter asked if tap water would be good we had no problem with drinking tap, however when the husband and wife got seated directly behind us that were in the mid 50's and they were offered a multitude of waters, still and sparkling with Myrtle Beach's finest tap at the end made me feel upset that we did not get the same offer. The second part was that when we gave the check to the waiter and did not need change since we had the whole bill taken care of, the waiter got about 7 feet away and then started counting the money to see if we stiffed him. I may only be 30 years old however I have always taken care of food service workers when they do a good job. I even included the amount of the free dessert in the tip so that he did not lose any money, so the fact that he thought that, it was upsetting. Will I go back the next time we are in Myrtle Beach.....That's a definite Yes! The food was great and it was not a bad experience by any means. We just won't order the main dishes because medium were plenty filling and we won't order two appetizers, we will compromise on one!

(5)Susan A.

(4)A S.
(5)Julie T.

Awesome meal, We've eaten here two years in a row - food is fresh, taste-full, local and creative? Service was excellent! Look forward to coming back next year!

(5)Sandy C.

Great restaurant find in MB. Top shelf menu and service! The best crab cakes in MB!
(5)Goofy D.

Wonderful food and impeccable service. It is expensive but you certainly get what you pay for.

(4)Ashley H.
(5)April S.
(4)Carolyn J.
(5)Dawn C.
(4)H P.
(4)Debbie Y.
We had a wonderful dual-birthdays dinner at Aspen Grill last week. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. There were 9 people in our party and we had appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, and dessert. Every dish was delicious!
(5)Teah H.

This lace is a FIND particularly for those needing to escape the touristy spots while vacationing in MB
(4)Pamela S.
Great local vibe... Service excellent by bartenders Allan & Scully. Had the scallops, fried oysters & beef tips. Prepared excellent. Highly recommended if youare looking for a great seafood/ beef restaurant in MB. Reasonably priced
(5)Billy J.
(5)Robin S.
(5)Corrie S.
(5)Jennifer Q.
